I feel that this meme describes the effects of technology perfectly. People are constantly trying to get their friends or loved ones to talk and their face is burried in their cell phone. Technology is taking the value of a real conversation and throwing it away. Now you can't hear someone's emotion because you're just reading a text. People do not feel like they have to sit people down to tell them big news, they just send them a text and that's that. It is truly sad that kids will all get together and still have the audacity to text each other. It is going to have an awful effect in the long run when they have to actual work with peers and communicate, and have a formal interview. These new norms that everyone follows is eventually going to come back and bit them in the butt!

Empathy in technology
I feel that this meme describes the effects of technology perfectly. People are constantly trying to get their friends or loved ones to talk and their face is burried in their cell phone. Technology is taking the value of a real conversation and throwing it away. Now you can't hear someone's emotion because you're just reading a text. People do not feel like they have to sit people down to tell them big news, they just send them a text and that's that. I agree with this because i fall victim to saying more through the phone than in person. It is much easier to hide behind a phone screen than build up the courage to say something face to face.
ReplyDeleteI agree with this post. People today are hiding behind technology and expect full respect back. Technology is ruining our society and all personal relationships. Face to face confrontation today is unheard of. I agree with the last line of "these new norms that everyone follow is eventually going to come back and bite them in the butt!". I think one day bad karma is going to come upon all people who used technology to hid their true selves.
