Totalitarianism is a political system that has complete control over society, requiring everyone to obey the state completely. Today, technology surrounds us everywhere. People use phones and cameras and take pictures of everything. Then, they upload them to social media and websites. By doing this, it allows totalitarianism to bloom. This gives government access to everything and lets them know what you are doing at all times. Once the upload button is hit, the pictures or videos are on the web forever and can never be removed. Even if they may seem to be deleted, they are still in the cloud. "People are becoming more and more like machines." -Edward T. Hall
Erika- I agree strongly with everything you are saying. Technology is definitely taking over our lives. We are being controlled by the internet and our phones/ computers, almost becoming robot/machine- like. I hate knowing that we are constantly under surveillance.
ReplyDeleteI agree with both of you guys. If we go out to the store and we forget our phones at home, some of us get sick and some even get some extreme forms of anxiety. We are becoming more like machines every single day and the only "human traits" we have left are our emotions and our senses. And honestly, we are starting to lose those little by little every time we get letting our phones consume us.
